How to optimize a Minecraft server.

Lag almost always comes down to five causes: an outdated core, wrong render distance, mob overload, redstone farms and a weak database. Here is what to check first.

  1. 1Switch the core to Paper or Purpur, they beat vanilla Spigot thanks to built-in optimizations.
  2. 2Tune view-distance and simulation-distance to the real load instead of the default maximum.
  3. 3Add optimization plugins: Spark for profiling, Clumps to cut lag from dropped items.
  4. 4Cap mob counts and redstone ticks in the config if the server runs farms and automation.
  5. 5Move the database to its own process (MySQL instead of built-in SQLite) as the player count grows.

Figuring it out and testing yourself takes time. We will set up and optimize the server for you, from €10.

from scratch

A full project built around your idea.

Velocity / BungeeCord proxy

Proxy network setup, switching between servers without reconnecting.

Lobby and transitions

A hub server with portals to modes, splitting load across processes.

Economy and permissions

LuckPerms, custom currency and a banking system tuned to your balance.

Custom modes

Unique gameplay mechanics written from scratch around your idea.

Velocity or BungeeCord?

For new projects we recommend Velocity, it is faster and developed more actively.

Questions about setup.

From €75 depending on scale (small/medium/large): proxy, lobby, game mode, map building, and custom plugins built for your idea.

From €10 for a basic setup (core configs, standard optimization plugins). Full optimization for heavy load is quoted individually, based on your server's current state.

Velocity is more modern, faster and actively maintained, we recommend it for new projects. BungeeCord has more legacy plugins with existing support, but develops much more slowly.

From 21 days for a small scale (proxy, lobby, one mode) up to 4-10 weeks for a large project with complex plugins and unique mechanics.

Both. We can set up a server from scratch, or optimize/upgrade an already-running project without losing player data.
